Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
Responsibilities
To work on product engineering & development activities on existing product ranges: EN & MIL AERO cable harness & Value added products. Involves working closely with global and local cross functional teams to provide engineering solutions.
To provide a structured design engineering approach from concept to production within agreed deadlines and with minimum variations, in accordance with LEAN product development methodology.
Accountable for end to end to delivery starting from VOC till production using standard development process for NPD, Sustenance and VAVE project activities.
Manage and work with a team of 2 to 3 engineers to execute NPD, Sustenance and VAVE projects to achieve departmental KPI metric.
Other Responsibilities
To create & modify detailed designs in line with the project requirements utilizing the expertise on CAD software like Creo & execute product change management using PDM Windchill.
Demonstrate and ensure products are designed for ease of manufacturing and assembly & provide technical support on product design, form and functionAbility to demonstrate product verification & design simulation capabilities using Creo-Simulate will be an added advantage.
Support prototype manufacturing and qualification testing, based on project requirements.
To work closely with the global engineering, project management teams, sales & operations teams on understanding the voice of customer, project requirements, costing.
To keep abreast of new technologies, materials and processes and use that information to initiate cost saving or product enhancing projects.
To contribute to achieving departmental targets – specifically on the KPIs related to product engineering activities.
To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Engineering Manager.
Functional Skill
Experience in New product development, product design, problem analysis & solving.
Expertise in modeling and detailing using CAD software: CREO.
Good Knowledge and hands on experience in PDM windchill & PLM software.
Hands on experience in design tools such as GD&T, DFMEA, DFM, DFA and Tolerance Stack ups.
Knowledge of Molding, Stamping, Platings, coatings & other manufacturing processes.
Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal & machined parts.
Knowledge in Creo simulate and basics of FEA.
Knowledge in additive manufacturing process.
Exposure and execution of cable harness product design.

B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, E&E engineering.
About 10 to12 years’ experience in Aerospace/Automobile/ Industrial Domain Industries.
