Role Summary/Purpose:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer -II within the Digital Engineering organisation, you will be responsible for testing mobile and web applications development and software integrations. You will be responsible for thoughtful basic problem solving. Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate competency of task management and delegation, a passion for QA products and processes, cross-functional teamwork, experience with Agile methodologies and timely delivery of quality products and reports.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop complex testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
Update automated test scripts to ensure currency.
Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
Escalate testing blockers to Project Manager and Product Team
Desired Characteristics:
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and handle complex resource balancing
Experience working directly with engineers/developers is a huge plus
Previous experience working with and communicating directly with developers and internal stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
An analytical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting
A ‘can do’ attitude with an ability to hit the ground running and learn on your feet
High level of initiative and can work well in a team environment
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with minimum 2+ years of experience in manual or automation testing for digital web and/or native mobile applications along with any testing frameworks OR, in lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience
W ork Timings
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
