OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF ROLE
The ESG Analyst role will be responsible for the collection, synthesis and analysis of ESG-related data to assist with global sustainability reporting. A critical team member of the Environment and Sustainability team, the ESG Analyst is responsible for conducting the data analysis as it pertains with managing Morgan’s Sustainability and ESG programs across the business. This position works with internal and external constituents to influence the business to drive improving metrics and ESG measures to support Morgan’s 2030 strategy.
Lead the collection and maintenance of ESG data to inform essential company processes, including but not limited to tracking progress across our business units against our ESG objectives and targets
Assist with developing content for regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate ESG data collection supporting various projects (e.g. annual report, ESG surveys) by collaborating and engaging subject matter experts across the GBUs in various departments
Develops data collection systems that optimize the efficiency of data mining
Gathers and filters for relevant data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement
Support all data related ESG projects to assist each business
Utilize and maintain the various reporting tools for ESG benchmarking, Life Cycle Analysis, Greenhouse Gas Reporting (Scope 1, 2 and 3), etc.
Gathering data for response to third-party ESG initiatives like GRI, UNGC, CDP, ISS, Ecovadis and others as identified as important for program success.
Build dashboards, keep track of core metrics and attribute metrics changes to root causes.
Ensure the integrity and quality control of Morgan Advanced Materials ESG data
Design and deploy new datasets to our ESG data records to help our teams accomplish their objectives
Assess and advise on data collection and/or analysis opportunities
Provide pertinent regional and global content on climate and the environment for annual reports, other sustainability reporting requirements, and related materials
Serve as an expert resource to support and inform decisions around global sustainability data collection and system design
Monitor and analyse the outcomes of project the teams implement
Flexible and curious to thrive in a growing organization
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, QlikView, Power BI, SAP
Ability to problem-solve and synthesize complex data/research into digestible, actionable outputs.
Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to support the technical teams for environmental data collection and reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Strong mathematical problem-solving skills
Experience with reporting standards and frameworks such as CDP, GRI, SASB, TCFD, SBTi and UNGC.
Familiar with ESG assessments and ratings such as CDP, Ecovadis, MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, etc.
Experience with reporting requires for Science Based Target Initiative
Strong skills in compiling and analyzing data from multiple sources.
