About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Photo Editor to join our creative team. As a Photo Editor, you will be responsible for enhancing and retouching images from our inhouse photo team to meet our brand’s visual standards and objectives. Your expertise in image editing software and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality visuals for our marketing materials, website, and social media platforms. This position requires a strong understanding of photography, colour correction, composition, and advance image manipulation techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the creative team to understand the visual requirements and objectives for each project. Work closely with photographers to ensure effective communication and alignment on objectives.
• Review and select the best images from photoshoots based on predetermined criteria and guidelines.
• Enhance and retouch images to ensure they meet quality standards, including color correction, exposure adjustments, and composition refinement.
• Apply advanced image editing techniques to achieve desired visual effects while maintaining a natural and cohesive look.
• Remove unwanted elements, blemishes, and distractions from images through meticulous retouching.
• Ensure consistency and adherence to brand guidelines and aesthetics across all edited images.
• Maintain an organized and efficient workflow, managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. Be able to work independently and with speed.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in photo editing and retouching to continuously improve skills and workflows. Experienced with latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior photo editors, offering feedback and support for their professional growth.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of an image library and archive, ensuring easy access and retrieval of images for future use.
• Keep track of industry-standard file formats, resolution requirements, and technical specifications for different platforms and mediums.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Photography, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in photo editing and retouching, preferably in a creative agency or related industry.
• Expertise in image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other relevant tools.
• Strong understanding of photography principles, composition, color theory, and lighting techniques.
• Proficient in retouching techniques, including skin retouching, object removal, and compositing.
• A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics, with the ability to enhance images while maintaining a natural look.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with photographers, creative teams, and other stakeholders.
• Leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior photo editors.
• A portfolio showcasing a range of edited images demonstrating technical skills and creative vision.
• Knowledge of video editing software and motion graphics is a plus.
