This role has close links to the Visual Journalism team, whose aim is to unlock the potential of multimedia storytelling across platforms – desktop, tablet, mobile and TV. Using graphical tools and combining those with an understanding of data and journalistic rigour, the team aims to produce powerful visual explanations that improve understanding of the news, and which audiences across the world highly appreciate.

Are you the right candidate?
We would like to hear from you if you are a recent media graduate/post-graduate from marginalised and ethnic groups and are keen to tell stories about them, which are underrepresented in Indian and international media. Your ideas can help us reach new audiences who may feel that news content is not meant for them.
You have demonstrable interest to train in BBC journalism. Knowledge of written and spoken English will be an advantage.
You are a creative storyteller who is curious about the world around you with keen interest in the digital media market and are able to offer unique story ideas for at least one marginalised section of Indian society.
You are a recent graduate/post-graduate in journalism/mass communication/media studies or related subjects with either no experience or up to two years. Having relevant experience in media research in TV, radio, print or online, including the ability to identify key ideas, debates and issues within a field would be an advantage.
This is a role which supports the production of stories about people from marginalised and ethnic groups which are underrepresented in Indian and international media
