Job description:
Minimum Requirements:
– Graduate: The applicant must have completed his/her bachelorette degree/diploma in any academic or
professional discipline. A degree or diploma in English and/or any of the humanities discipline would be
preferable.
– Ability to follow instructions: applicant must already have developed the requisite acumen to comprehend the
language, follow instructions and guidelines and communicate with peers and higher-ups with confidence.
– On-site job: THE APPLICANT HAS TO COME TO THE OFFICE TO WORK, MEANING HE/SHE CAN
NEITHER TAKE THE WORK HOME, NOR WORK FROM HOME.
Skills (Common to All):
– Grasp on Language: The applicant must have a good grasp on the written side of the English language. He/she
must know how to structure a sentence that has all the necessary parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective etc.)
and produce said sentence that is grammatically correct.
– Lucidity: The applicant must be able to write down his/or thoughts with lucidity. In other words, each block or
paragraph of sentences must follow some basic tenet of logic i.e. it must have two or more premises, and then
arrive at a conclusion from said premises.
– Native English usage: The applicant must know the differences between native English and non-native English
usage. Importantly, he/she should be comfortable writing for an UK-English and/or US English audience.
Experience with online content: If an applicant has had prior experience with content writing, then that is
desirable. In that regard, he/she should have gained an appreciation for writing content around a keyword;
concept of anchor text and inserting the right link into the anchor text; and a general understanding of what
ghostwriting, copy-writing etcetera entails.
– Ability to research topics: Often applicants have to write about topics that belong to varying niche. They may
not have any idea about a given topic at the time, and must therefore be comfortable with researching the
subject matter online.
– Non-Plagiarized content: Authenticity is paramount and thus an applicant must have developed the discipline to
write original content not copied from any available web content.
– Decent typing speed: The applicant should have basic understanding of using run-of-the-mill word processors
(MS Word, WPS etc), and additionally must have an acceptable typing speed (Minimum of 25 words per
minute) without severely sacrificing on (minimum 85%) accuracy.
Ideal Requirements:
– Ready to join immediately: The applicant should ideally be prepared to join our organization within two weeks
(or less) of having passed the final interview stage.
– Work Samples: The applicant should have samples of previous written content that he/she has done for a client
or otherwise. If he/she has any published content online (bearing the applicants name) then that would be
perfect.
– Contextual Understanding: The applicant should ideally be in a position to understand where to insert a certain
keyword or key phrase in a block of content, and more importantly WHERE NOT TO. He/she should ideally be
comfortable creating content for niches like legal, business, social media, travel, real estate, home
improvement, technology, marketing, software, healthcare, insurance, automobiles, finance and sports.
