National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) invites application for the position Project Officer – Mental Health
Project: “National Initiative & Integrated Resource for Child Protection, Mental Health, and Psychosocial Care”
No of post: 02 (TWO)
Essential Qualifications:
a) Masters’ degree in Social Work/Psychology.
b) At least 3 years’ experience (post to essential qualification) in directly working with children, with a minimum of 1 year working in clinical settings, such as hospitals/ departments of psychiatry/child guidance clinic.
c) Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, including signs, symptoms and diagnostic criteria.
d) Knowledge and skills in therapeutic methods used with children and adolescents.
e) Training experience in child mental health-related issues (with counsellors/mental health professionals/parents).
f) Knowledge of research methodology, including the ability to conceptualize research studies.
g) Evidence of written work and documentation in the area of child mental health, and protection.
h) Strong English oral and written skills, with experience in coordinating and communicating with government and other systems/agencies.
i) Good working knowledge of oral Hindi and/or Kannada.
j) Willingness to travel within the country.
Desired knowledge/skills:
- PhD in Social Work/Psychology/Special Education
- Experience working with children and teachers in government education systems.
- Experience in working with children with disability (including areas of remedial education and inclusive education).
- Oral/ working knowledge of at least 1 (Indian) regional language.
- Experience and ability to develop social media/awareness materials.
- Published papers in the area of child mental health/education/protection
Maximum age limit: 35 years
Emoluments: Rs.90,000/- per month (Consolidated)
Location: Bangalore City/ NIMHANS
