We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff AI Engineer to step into a crucial role as a technical leader within our Trust AI Platforms & Foundations team. Our primary mission is to establish standardized tools, platforms, and algorithms that will serve various trust-focused teams. These teams encompass the Anti-abuse AI team, annotation and review tools, and sampling platforms team.
Our unique approach involves focusing on specific foundational issues through a centralized strategy, safeguarding our efforts from potential product changes while enhancing accountability for results and adoption. Additionally, we’re dedicated to fostering stronger collaborations with other foundational teams, such as the horizontal AI foundations team and the Knowledge Graph team, to create synergies and amplify our impact.
Within our organization, we have a group of dedicated individuals working closely on two key fronts: Trust AI foundations and AI platforms. Your primary role will be to spearhead the strengthening of our AI foundation space. This entails harnessing, tailoring, and innovating cross-functional solutions of the highest caliber to augment the performance of our current AI solutions. You will also play a pivotal role in introducing innovative safety measures of a horizontal nature and streamlining processes, such as human annotation, to boost efficiency. Additionally, you would drive initiatives in the direction of using Generative AI to improve operational efficiency and decision quality. Your expertise and technical acumen will be pivotal in driving these initiatives forward.

Responsibilities:
•Lead the team to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the most complex problems to keep members safe on the platform
•Strong ownership and collaboration skills to work across horizontal and vertical teams by driving consensus, domain adaptation and alignment.
•Drive technical roadmap and architecture for foundational technology across the Trust organization
•Align on product and technology strategy related to Trust issues across functions and organizations across LinkedIn
•Lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation and mentor the next generation of engineering leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
•MS/PhD Degree in Computer Science or related technical or quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
•14+ years’ experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and ML algorithm related solutions
•5+ years in an architect or technical leadership position
•Domain expertise in deep learning, Generative AI and large language models
•14+ years of experience in large scale machine learning modelling both from scale of operation and scale of the models
•5+ years of Experience in end-to-end model development life cycle spanning (but not limited to) data sampling, model training, deployment and performance evaluation
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in pre-training/fine tuning of large language models including the recent generative set models
•5+ experience in cross functional technical leadership via coming up with and executing strategies
