JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the Job
:
An Editorial Manager is responsible for managing a team of copy-editors and leading them through the editorial processes in the development and publishing of educational content for Classes Pre-Primary to 10. They will work closely with the leadership to review the current processes, design and set up new editorial guidelines for the team to ensure quality work. They Will also be responsible for planning and allocation of work, reviewing the team’s work and chalking out a learning and development plan for continuous professional development of the team. The Editorial Manager will also be responsible for the final review of print material to ensure good quality print content.
The candidate must have a proven track record in copy-editing, developmental editing, quality assurance, a great work ethic, ability to adhere to deadlines and an experience in team management. They should be open towards working with different teams and functions and have a creative, solution-oriented approach.

Must
:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, Plan and assign the work; track the team’s work .
  • Review the team’s work and give feedback.
  • Plan out and execute learning sessions for professional development of the team.
  • Proofread Hindi content for textbooks, lesson plans and other support materials to make sure the final product is error-free and eminently readable

Should
:
l A Master’s degree in any discipline, with command of Hindi and strong editing skills.
l At least 8-11 years of experience in print or digital publishing, in different editorial roles.
l Experience in proofreading, content writing and quality assurance in publishing.
l Experience in team management, mentoring and training freshers and junior editors

Nice
:
l Background in school education.
l Independently communicate with authors/reviewers/vendors/freelancers regarding translation/editing queries
