The Role
As a Non-Financial Risk Specialist, you are dedicated to maintaining and improving the integrity of the bank’s IT processes, employees, and clients. You are able to identify and analyze defects in the controls (including management controls) and the associated first and/or second line risks.
As a senior risk manager, you will work side-by-side by professionals to manage the risk and security posture is in line with our moderate risk posture. You will do this by creating insight and analysis and enabling P&T management to set and drive the right priorities and direction to the teams which are part of an enterprise infrastructure service provider.
As a professional you have in-depth experience (10+ yrs) of IT management, IT governance, IT service management in an enterprise environment, preferable in a large financial organization.
You are able to :
gather data on integrity using interviews, observations, file searches, diagnoses, risk assessments, and organizational assessments as a basis.
use your findings to convince relevant stakeholders that measures that have to be taken are both useful and necessary.
translate the developments into expert advice that clearly sets out the consequences for our products, services, processes, and employees.
You develop methodologies and processes that allow the business to maintain its risk appetite.
You also conduct follow-up studies to assess how your advice is acted upon. Where necessary, you maintain contact with relevant regulators.
Knowledge and skills
Knowledge of banking products, processes, and services
Understanding of digitalization and its impact on the bank
Networking skills
Knowledge of risk taxonomy, compliance, legal and relevant domains, and data analysis (including techniques)
Advisory skills
Security officer, security manager : 10+ years
Experience in the financial industry : 3-5 years
Experience with risk management : 10+ years
Act as trusted advisor to C-level management
Experience with security and compliance frameworks like ISO27001, COBIT, NIST, CIS Controls
You communicate clearly and transparently, both orally and in writing
Certification : CRISC, CISSP, CISM (or completing the certification in the next six months)
Results
Able to form a clear picture of risks and to make fact-based decisions regarding acceptance or mitigation.
Adequate advice relating to the area of responsibility.
Optimum balance between risk and return
Effective and efficient first and second lines of defense
Expertise center for the area of responsibility
Research and analyses performed.
Development of toolset to enable the business to monitor and mitigate risks.
