EPIC experience team in Car Audio:

The HARMAN EPIC (Early Pursuits with Innovative Concepts) experience team is responsible for the Harman’s Car Audio innovation process and creates new car audio concept’s that are used to grow Harman’s position as an industry leader in the premium automotive audio space. Often these concepts are build into a concept vehicle. The EPIC team supports all HARMAN automotive brands with strong iconic perceptual in-car audio experiences created with understanding and respect for each brand’s DNA – based on creativity, innovation and new technologies and research within acoustic, sound field control, simulations, interaction, materials, mechanical design and user-friendly user interfaces.

The EPIC team primarily works on new concepts to support sales pitches towards OEM customers OR as generic concepts to be showcased at CES and similar tech events. The EPIC experience team owns most parts of the conceptual work if not all, including the user experience, system design, software components, hardware components, acoustic tuning, trim parts and fabrication of the demo car.

The EPIC experience team is a highly competent team of 50+ people including technical fellows & distinguished engineers located in 5 countries (US, Denmark, Germany, India and Japan) across domains of user experience, system design, hardware, software and acoustics. The EPIC software team in Bangalore will be working closely together with the global project teams on application development as well as embedded software solutions and the team is planned to grow from one person to 8 people in 2022.


Position Summary:

If you are interested in working in a global creative environment where the end-user experience is your main focus and you bring an innovative and solution oriented mindset you might be the perfect candidate for this role.

For most concept cars / demonstrators, there is a front-end android application (HMI) involved either simulated on a tablet OR in vehicle head unit (IVI). In this role, you will support testing these applications before we show it to our customers to ensure high quality if what we present.

Also we are developing full system setups with headunits, amplifiers, touch screens etc. In this role, you will also support system bring up and single device and end-to-end testing.

This position reports to the Sr. Program Manager of the EPIC team based in Europe but with a technical mentor locally in Bangalore. Work location would be Harman office in Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge Court, Whitefield, Bangalore.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Support system, functionality, integration, regression testing, End-to-end Testing.
  • Support writing test cases.
  • Support debugging.
  • Support hardware system bring ups.
  • Flashing of new software.
  • Communicate issues found to developer team in a clear and structured way.


Qualifications:

  • Ideally experience in testing.
  • Ideally some insights into software.
  • Should be able to adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
