What You’ll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer at AppDynamics, you will play a crucial role in the development of our next-generation data security posture management product. This role is a great opportunity to join a growing team, and to help shape and execute our data security strategy. Data sprawl has increased by 10x in the last 5 years and with that the data security challenges have increased by 100x. Security has become a data problem. The objective of this product is to adopt a novel approach of using data analytics, advanced AI/ML and recent advancements in Gen AI to identify the data security attacks, diagnose and remediate issues in near real-time enabling the security admins to operate their data with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and build the data security posture management product for various data stores such as databases, object stores, NoSQL, or document databases.

Work cross-functionally with other teams across time zones to drive the development

Make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-release while maintaining performance and scalability requirements

Be able to clearly communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams.

You will be working on cutting edge technologies to solve data security and helping customers keep their data safe.
AppDynamics R&D Center in Bangalore was founded in 2015 and is focusing on leading core product and engineering areas fairly independently and works closely with San Francisco and other teams. Over the last 3 years, we have grown our Bangalore R&D Center which has evolved as a center of excellence for core product & engineering innovation in AppDynamics. We have been able to build a super strong team, that is working on very exciting and challenging problems. We have an outstanding and happy work culture at Bangalore, where entire center works as one single team and truly cares for each other!
Who You Are
-
Minimum 5+ years of proven experience.
-
Extensive experience in one or more of these areas – data security, data analytics, AI/ML, and data engineering.

Strong understanding of various data storage systems including databases, object stores, and document stores.

Cloud Experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
-
Strong experience and knowledge with micro services, distributed systems, and performance optimization

Experience with Agile development process and embrace Agile methodologies

Hands on coding experience in Golang and Python.

Understanding of Generative AI is a plus
-
Proven experience in designing and implementing robust data security systems.

Deep understanding of data security challenges and trends.
Preferred Qualifications:

BS/MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Certifications in Data Security or related field.

Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
