Primary functions
• Be a change agent to support the organizational transformation of the electrified drive systems and software teams to tooling solutions in both ALM & PLM domian.
• Uses demonstrated systems/software experience and lessons learned to drive the tool development & deploymeny.
• Manages to the Global Tool Center of Expertise (COE) team to ensure the development of new software tools and the improvement or maintenance of existing tools by following the development rules of the Systems/Software group.
• Functionally lead the Tool Deployment Engineers to ensure toolchain alignment to project processes.
• Manages the Global Process Center of Expertise (COE) team to ensure the development of new processes and the improvement or maintenance of existing processes by following the development rules of the Systems/Software group.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other Engineering Excellence teams to ensure tooling solutions are continuously improved (Process and Tool Development, Functional Safety, Agile, and Project Management).
• Drive hiring and training of Tools Release Engineer/Tools Develoer personnel and expansion of Engineering Excellence organization
• Provide coaching and mentoring support to help the five global competency-based EDF teams (Systems, Software, Mechanical, eHardware, eMotor) achieve their EDF Roadmap to accelerate the development and deployment of EDF Tooling solutions.
• Lead the Deployment team to develop a global (consistent practices around the organization) and scalable (appropriate for small to large, cross site projects) project management tooling solutions.
• Collaborate with the BorgWarner IT group in establishing corporate standard tool set strategies
• Adapts the BorgWarner IT enterprise-wide tool landscape to the PDS business unit use case
• Develops and monitors systems/software process metrics to verify/validate effective and usage of implemented tools – report project/process performance on regular basis
• Aligns tool selection, development, and configuration to optimally meet systems/software process requirements
• Addresses lessons learned
• Develops customized tool kits to meet customer-specific program requirements
• Proactively analyze systems/software process deployments, identifies opportunities for improvement and develops solutions
• Uses demonstrated systems/software experience and lessons learned to drive engineering project teams to achieve their quality goals and leads project teams in the usage of PDS evolving Processes, Methods and Tools
• Works closely with the engineering teams to monitor performance of the systems and software tools used
• Drives continuous improvement of best practices – look for synergies across projects
SKILLS
Mandatory
·Strong Technical Expertise: Proficiency in ALM and PLM tools, such as JIRA, Polarion , Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or similar platforms. In-depth knowledge of the tools’ functionalities, configurations, and administration is essential.
Strong Technical Expertise: JAVA Web application development, Windows based application development, Python, C#
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL
·Leadership and Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead and supervise a team of ALM and PLM tool administrators or analysts. Strong managerial skills, including communication, delegation, and team collaboration, are necessary to ensure effective tool management and support.·Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Aptitude for analyzing and resolving complex technical issues related to ALM and PLM tools. Experience in identifying root causes, implementing effective solutions, and providing guidance to team members is crucial.·Process Improvement: Proven ability to assess existing ALM and PLM processes and identify opportunities for optimization. Skills in streamlining workflows, defining best practices, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.·Configuration and Customization: Proficiency in configuring and customizing ALM and PLM tools to align with specific project requirements. Experience in defining workflows, creating custom fields, templates, and reports, as well as integrating the tools with other systems or applications.·Training and Documentation: Capability to develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users or team members on ALM and PLM tools. Strong documentation skills to create and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.·Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, development teams, quality assurance teams, and business stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to understand their needs, provide tool support, and ensure alignment with project objectives.·Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and industry best practices in ALM and PLM tools. Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and acquire new skills to enhance tool proficiency.·Project Management: Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies. Ability to coordinate tool-related activities, prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within defined project constraints.·Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality assurance principles and processes to ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with relevant standards or regulations.
