Role Purpose
INM is s a key strategic market to grow the Retail Lending business. There is an aspiration to grow the Personal Loans portfolio multi-fold and increase the overall market share in the country. Several initiatives have been planned to enable the growth engine. The purpose of this job is to play a key role in implementing the key initiatives, identify new opportunities, developing new products, digitalize our acquisition journeys, optimize cost, work with the channel partners to improve efficiency and provide the right steer to achieve the desired results. The job holder will be responsible for channel management and have an oversight over the acquisition plan for the business.

Major Challenges
The strategy for PIL business is to focus on building balances through new acquisition and from existing portfolio customers through various initiatives.
HSBC’s focus is to grow receivables – both organic and inorganic to have the best portfolio in the industry. The objective is to increase share of Inorganic Receivables from the good risk customers in the portfolio and limit extent of losses incurred on account of the high risk section of the portfolio.
The jobholder will therefore have to continuously conceptualize and work closely with all stakeholders to target low risk customers in cross-selling Inorganic Receivables products. Provide strategic direction to other channels by increasing efficiency. The jobholder will also have to ensure that all sourcing is done at a cost of acquisition which will maximize yield and the portfolio is profitable.
The incumbent will need to show conceptualization ability, strong leadership, business focus, analytical skills and experience to contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
Role Context
The job-holder has to assist the Portfolio and Distribution Head in developing strategies for Portfolio acquisition and aimed at existing customers that are profitable to the Bank. Besides dealing with internal customers (i.e., Credit, Compliance, Operations, Business and Departmental heads), the job holder also needs to liaise with external customers like the telemarketing agencies and other service providers on a day-to-day basis. This position has the authority to lay down guidelines to agencies for smooth functioning of the channel pan-India. The jobholder will be required to work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory/Group guidelines.
Management of Risk
Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section 4 of the Group Operations FIM
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy. Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimizing relations with regulators
