POSITION PURPOSE:

In Technical Community Procurement we keep our sites running well and equipped to fulfill our joint mission: Health for all, Hunger for none. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep current on category market intelligence and supply market trends within the Equipment, Process Control Technology & MRO area(s) to gain a competitive market advantage and to introduce supplier innovation ideas.
• Know business strategies, objectives, demand forecast, and business challenges for each of Bayer’s Divisions: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and Crop Science.
• Establish effective, trustful, personal relationships with key business partners, align sourcing projects and be the contact point for all procurement related topics for the partner community.
• Regional implementation of strategies and initiatives for your category, ensuring alignment, compliance with Procurement guidelines, as well as other internal/external process standards and delivery of required business performance (e.g. savings, payment terms, increased compliance / sustainability or reduced risk / reduced time-to-market).
• Collaborate with the Bayer shared service center delivery network, GEP as external partners for sourcing and sourcing support, and within the global network of category managers.
• Apply fit-for-purpose supplier management to the supply base and create relationships with assigned key suppliers and selected base suppliers, if required.

WHO YOU ARE:

• You have a BA/BS degree in Science, Engineering or Business Management and 8-10 years of professional business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, MBA/MS preferred.
• Partner engagement skills combined with influencing & engagement skills across cultures, hierarchies and across functions distinguish you.
• You are able to work in a global and virtual working environment.
• We rely on your possession of basic regional market insights and category expertise.
• You have financial competence and can communicate the procurement role to collaborators.
