Amazon is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced leader to join the Corporate Business Development (Corp BD) team in India. This is a unique opportunity to join a centralized corporate team that manages strategic partnerships across all of Amazon. As a Corp BD leader, you will be responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon India’s most complex and high-impact partnership activities, while having a strong aptitude to identify best-in-class partnerships for Amazon in India. This includes managing relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are unconventional in nature, require a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications for Amazon. The role will entail concurrently driving multiple initiatives that may involve commerce, marketing, content, and technology components across Amazon.in, Amazon Pay, Prime, Prime Video, Amazon Advertising, Operations, AWS and/or other Amazon businesses.
This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon. You will need to work collaboratively with internal management teams to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie, if/when major features are in existing roadmaps, and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption. We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. Identifying and executing strategic partnerships is our primary objective.

Key job responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Drive an India specific strategy that can evolve into a broad framework for entering into strategic partnerships and alliances
Lead identification, evaluation, negotiation, and management of partnerships across all Amazon businesses that can involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components
Be a central point of contact for key strategic/cross-Amazon partnerships in India
Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships
Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, and senior management to execute on the relationships
Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon’s business teams

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of applicable experience in strategic business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, product management, investment banking, and/or venture investing experience
End-to-end negotiation experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as large scale marketing deals, technical collaborations, complex digital media transactions, and strategic technology relationships
Preferred Qualifications
MBA from a top-tier Business School
Competency with internet and mobile technologies
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
Ability to manage and recommend strategic investment decisions
Thought leader with a solid understanding of multiple industries and their intersection with commerce
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally
Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of senior management and external executives
Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow
Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment
Passion for big challenges and a good sense of humor
