Job Description
This position will assist in the support and maintenance of business line/regional applications across AECOM. Coordinating with AECOM business stakeholders and 3rd party resources, this position serves as the business analyst working on legacy applications supporting business lines or individual geographies. Working under the IT Director of Application Support, this position will assist in support tasks, requirements gathering, solutions design and development activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as go-to lT analyst for business users across legacy regional and business line applications
Work with 3rd party resources including offshore teams to assign/escalate and resolve support issues
Ensure application and development and support are aligned with IT standards and strategy
Adhere to security requirements and processes to maintain highest level of protection for source code, secure interfaces, passwords, data, etc.
Resolve complex issues that require significant freedom of action and sound judgment
Present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form to senior management and any other necessary audience
Guide the business in formulating requirements and priorities; establish and oversee the implementation of appropriate business logic
Identify and evaluate the impact of proposed or requested major changes to existing application systems, modify them as necessary for cross-enterprise commonality and efficiency, and prepare them for assignment and execution after establishing appropriate priorities in conjunction with business management
Analyze business requirements and functional change requests; identify omissions and errors in requirements; recommend optimum approach and develop systems and/or applications design for approved projects
Coordinate appropriate user training and development of associated supplemental materials, presentations and documentation
Keep current with the latest versions of applications development software, techniques and practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business, Management Information Systems or IT related fields
5+ years of application support experience required
Basic database and SQL skills, knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in information technology design and development
Knowledge of Microsoft technology including Power Apps, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Office
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
Strong experience in system development methodology (Waterfall, Agile) and ability bridge different methodologies as the project requires
Highly analytical and self-motivating individual with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
Be able to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional matrix environment
Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees
Able to quickly learn new technologies as they become prevalent and widely implemented including decision making, time management, and task prioritization
